Let's Get Personal |
In this picture you see the feet of my 7 oldest children. I am the father of 11 children, 16 when you add my bonus children that have married in. I am also currently the grandfather of 3 (with more coming 😉). These are 19 of my greatest blessings in this life! Why is that important? Because one of the biggest reasons I started treating peripheral neuropathy (besides trying to help each of you) is because I have neuropathy and I am unwilling to let peripheral neuropathy influence my life or keep me from spending time with these individuals. My Big Goal: To be able to play with my grandchildren and great grandchildren the same way I played with my children...This is still a work in progress! |

The Hydration Connection: Research suggests even mild dehydration can exacerbate existing neuropathy symptoms. For people with other causes such as diabetes, dehydration can worsen the already existent nerve damage and increase pain. Quenching the Fire: Adequate hydration is key. Aim for 10-12 glasses of water daily, adjusting for factors like activity level and climate. Electrolyte-rich fluids like sports drinks can be helpful during intense exercise or hot weather. Listen to Your Body: Watch for signs of dehydration like thirst, fatigue, and dark urine. If you experience neuropathy symptoms, consult a doctor to rule out underlying conditions and discuss proper hydration strategies. Remember, staying hydrated is essential for overall health and can play a crucial role in managing peripheral neuropathy. So, grab that glass of water and keep your nerves happy! |
