Iona Pritchard, a sophomore Fullback was injured while blocking for the return team in the opening kickoff of fall camp. It is a season-ending type injury as he broke his leg and dislocated his ankle. The injury will require surgery.
This is a severe injury that happens less often in football, but is considered a similar mechanism of injury as a ankle sprain or broken ankle injury.
